Gangster Choppers - the "Toothache" bike.

The story is the “Toothache” bike started with a customer bringing us a Buell Sport bike & wanting a full blown Gangster style chopper built around the 103 horsepower drive train. We started scratch building the rigid frame & sizing up the 200mm rea...r tire and keeping it perfectly centered an offset drive sprocket with a sealed bearing outer support plate was engineered and machined – one of many one off parts that went into this build, the upsweep pipes, traditional style barrel oil tank, forward foot controls, completely one off hand hammered gas tank and rear fender treatment. Gangster Choppers Springer handlebars were pulled off the shelf and thrown into the mix.

Gangster Choppers - the "Blood Money" bike

Started for a "Build Off" that fell away, "Build Off" contracts signed, "Build Off" sponsorships secured and no "Build Off". It didn't matter anyway like a disease the ideas for this chopper ate away at John Dodson's brain, the bike build had to see completion! That's where the bikes name came from, after the TV cameras left the shop and it became apparent that the TV show was gone too, most of the sponsors backed out. Where would the funding come from? Blood money! Take it, steal it, borrow it, just get it!

Debuting Bert Baker's Function Form primary drive with the Baker King Kong Klutch and the Baker Firestarter, all of this coupled to the world's finest transmission ever: a six speed Torque Box. A big thanks goes out to Mark at HHI who stepped up with the cleanest brake caliper in the world for Blood Moneys one and only rear brake - and if you're only playing with one you better make it the best. Art imitating life, a tank mural of the Gangster Choppers shop truck cruising The Boulevard late one night, caught on film, caught in art.
